I like Professor Newton," she agreed. "But the assignment was for us to drink the poison and to brew the antidote. My Dad kinda took issue with having us drink the poison in the first place." Even Hadley could see where her Dad was coming from, even if she didn't like where it lead.
She continued to scrub, trying to ignore how tired her arms were getting. Hads didn't want to give Professor Primeaux the satisfaction of Well, if you had just been respectful, you wouldn't have to scrub so much, or whatever little lesson he'd try to give her for it. Whenever she was sure he wasn't looking though, she'd take the opportunity to give her arms a few seconds of rest. Then she'd be back to scrubbing again when he looked back in her direction.
"Uh, it's coming..." She was getting close to finishing the second wall and her arms were starting to feel like re-fried rubber bands. "Got the sticking part down, not so much the permanent part. But I've also been splitting my focus with trying to get the flying charm down as well." She paused to rub her shoulder quickly and then continued scrubbing. "Instead of a broom for my birthday, Dad got me a snowboard," she explained. It was something she'd asked for 3 years ago when they lived in California and could do day trips to Big Bear. Wasn't as practical in London. "So, I'm trying to make it fly. Right now it's more bucking bronco than a flyer. But they're getting there." Both the flying spell (slowly) and the permanent sticking charm (less slowly).
