Cassie was pretty good at it but she was getting older and her memory was not quite as razor sharp as it had been when she was a teenager.
She had a coffee every morning, of course, but that didn't mean she could make it all day without another one. Luckily this was one such day where she had a bit of time to stop in and make herself a coffee. There was only one other person in the break room when she entered and Cassie smiled at her as she passed on her way to the coffee machine. At first she didn't notice anything wrong because she was so focused on getting her coffee started. But when she had time to pause and think she took in her pose. Knees to her chest and head on her knees. Not a lot of people without a problem sat like that. "Hey, are you okay?" She asked. Quote:

Just this Summer, the Under-17 Quidditch Championship was held here in Exmoor so that was a great deal too. She wondered what other activities they were yet to discover. Should keep it interesting here while she did the foreign relations.
But for now, she decided to settle for a break. After fixing up her own desk in her working area, the twenty-four year old made her way to the break room for grab a cup of coffee or two. It wasn't a busy day... not yet, at least, but there was nothing wrong with getting her daily dose of caffeine. It was also another way to possibly bump into someone here at work, so even more "yay" for that.
Oh, a YAY indeed! There were people in the break room. Better than being lonely, definitely. Rani put on her best smile and went towards the two ladies in the room. She noticed the other woman, Claudette, from the orientation. It was comforting to see a sort of familiar face in a new working place, really. "Good morning, Claudette," she nodded towards the blonde. As for the other woman, Rani smiled at her too. "Good morning to you, as well." See? A great day indeed!
"Is everything alright?" Claudette didn't seem to look so cheerful today. Oh whatever seemed to bother her? Hopefully not another stain to her dress, perhaps? Quote:

Being the quiet, unassuming man he was, he just nodded to the other two women and leant back against the worktop to listen for Claudette's problem. Quote:

This room was in dire need of redecorating, preferably in some combination of blue and magenta! She'd known a warlock back in Denmark who was particularly famous for his interior designs... She made a mental note to discuss that with Mr. Yenorin later; now she needed a quick chocolate fix! "Good morning, ladies and Mr. Taylor," she greeted the others in the room, nodding to each of her colleagues in turn as she crossed the room to the refrigerator. Thankfully, no one had taken the chocolate cauldron cake she'd hidden in the back. She took a seat, daintily unfolding a napkin into her lap, but as she glanced around the room, she noticed Claudette seemed out of sorts this morning.
Katja's mind warned her not to get involved. People who were upset often lashed out or otherwise reacted in less than dignified ways, and having her pride wounded by getting snapped at was not her idea of a good start to the day. But for some reason, that didn't deter her. Her chocolate cauldron cake momentarily forgotten, she turned to Claudette. "Whatever's the matter, Ms. Poignant?" she asked. With her face buried against her knees Claudy shut everything out as she tried her best to accept the sad truth. She had lost the super important document listing all immigrating employees and diplomats and other important people that boss Gid had personally asked her to put together.
This was so embarrassing and wrong and hard and she just wished that Luc could be there, hug her and help her and do what a good boyfriend would do. But he wasn't there. He was away on auror training in some tunnel somewhere. This was her mess.
Hearing multiple feet and voices coming into the break room she didn't move. She kept her face buried against her knees. It was until Katja arrived and spoke in such a formal way to her that Claudy raised her head to look around at her colleagues. As the tears started to fall down her face she sniffed out in a sad voice that cracked after each sentence. "I lost a super important document. The boss is going to be so mad at me. He asked me personally for it. I don't know where it is. It is nowhere. It is all mess."
Hiccupping and sniffing Claudy wiped away tears from her cheeks.
