All the other student arrivals got nods. So did the psychic Professor or whatever the heck it was that she taught. Not that it was important. If it was, James would've taken it while he was in school. Probably would've slept through it too, honestly. So yeah, not an important subject.

It worked with getting out of bad dates, why wouldn't it work at a school function?

Although, she wasn't sure why anyone would want to leave. She was feeling this music.

James gave the Gryffindor a strange look, taking note of how quick she was to come up with a good lie. Interesting. He'd keep that in mind next time she tried to skip class. Well, next time she tried to skip HIS class. Because honestly, he wouldn't blame her if she dipped out of Herbology every day of the year. Paul's class was just about as intolerable as his floral patterned ponchos.

"I could make that work," he nodded thoughtfully. "You're quick on your feet, kid." It was a compliment, alright? The closest he'd get to one.

Oh yes, he heard that. And he was QUITE amused.

Which was made very apparent with the big smirk he wore on his face after she whipped her head and stormed away. It was good to be king.

The Creatures professor did not have the aura of a certain former Headmistress at the moment. Key phrase being 'at the moment.' "Put on his apron and baked brownies."

Moment over? Most likely. Oops?

And like all good things, Airehead brought this one to an end too.

..................

And with one look, he could surely bring Airey's life to an end too. Because if looks could kill, James' stare was lethal. "Don't get used to it," he quipped.

And just because James actually didn't bake these brownies, a part of him hoped that they were terrible.

Though a smile was on his face, the man internally was perplexed. Was that a plate of brownies? Was the professor ill?

Sahnoun didn't question the Creatures professor though. He simply watched the man set the plate on the table as a few students entered the room. "Ahh, yes," he responded with a nod of his head. "Great day for a party indeed. Dank you for bringing da brownies, James. How very doughtful of you."

"I know you're still new here," he nodded "But that's what I'm known for, always thoughtful," he lied. Eh, how would Sahnoun know anyways? For all the strange man knew, James brought brownies to events all the time. He was building himself a reputation here, people. One built on lies. But eh, his morals were questionable.

Why wasn't she standing here with him? He wanted to be with her right now!
Now if you'd excuse him, James was leaving. No explanation needed. He had spent far too long here already. It was what, like ten whole minutes now? He'd done his fair share. Even brought brownies.

On his way toward the door, he couldn't help but notice the strange look that Prefect Gryffindor was wearing.... "Everything alright, Paton?" That glazed, distant look.... looked all too familiar. Yet James couldn't quite place it.

Yeah, whatever. Not his problem.

He showed up, didn't he? Brought brownies? Didn't need to keep a kid from crying over his exam grades. James had already done so much good for one day. So ....... Kid, if that'd be all.... He could just leave, yeah?
