How had he gone so long without saying anything to the one person that deserved to hear what he had been up to in secret and behind her back? Oh, what a bad friend he was. What a bad everything he was, honestly. Rooney Bronwyn was nothing short of a terrible human being.

He'd been pacing his way around the grounds for at least an hour so far, and found himself and his feet tapping their way across the wooden bridge, head in his own.
