"Do I have fever?" she asked in a worried tone, and stood right in front of Hadley for her to check.

"Oh, hey. I was...uh...." Hadley cast a sideways glance at Asher, who looked up at her as if to say, Beats me. I'm only a ferret. He was being no help at all. She wiped her hand on her robe and then touched the back of her hand to Mossy's forehead. She didn't feel hotter than normal. "Nope. Why? What's up?"

Sure, Mossy could be a bit of a worrier sometimes, even when there was nothing to worry about, but thinking she had a fever was new. "Are you not feeling well or something?"

Asher nuzzled Hadley's hand and the redhead reached back into the bag and feed him another piece of meat. "Do you want to try feeding Asher? I'm sure he'll grow on you once you get to know him a bit." Yep, she remembered how nervous Mossy had been around him while Hadley had been seven. "He's a sweetheart. I Promise."
