Mostly Hadley was engrossed in a book about brooms and how they're made. Her brow was furrowed and sometimes she could be seen mouthing words to herself or absently twirling her wand as she read. "This spell is impossible," she told her ferret as she sat up. Hadley let out a frustrated sigh, closed her book and scooped the ferret into her arms. She needed a break and Asher needed food. Hads pulled out a small bag full of chunks of meat and held one out for the ferret.
She'd ask Mossy for help with the spell next time she saw her. Katherine preferred to study in the library (no shocker there), so she had been there as usual. However, today wasn't her day. She couldn't focus properly for the first time in her life, which naturally made her grumpy. She forced herself to read and comprehend the herbology book... to no avail. After two hours, she had to admit defeat and return to the common room.
Was she getting sick? She wouldn't even know... and no, she wasn't visiting the Healer. She didn't want to be yelled at for nothing. And anyway, she would be able to brew a potion for it. She had to eat more fruit, she knew, but with the lessons going on, there was no time for it... anyway, off to the common room she went. If she did have a fever, Hadley or Azura would be able to tell.
Speaking of, her new friend was sitting there with her ferret! Katherine remembered that she still didn't know the animal's name. Oh well. "Do I have fever?" she asked in a worried tone, and stood right in front of Hadley for her to check. |
