He was eager for her to cast back, seeing as he'd distracted her. But he expected better, actually. His eager bouncing on his feet had him ready for a quick one-two, a tactic that Char was a fan of. First, he shouted "Protego!", glad that his teeth didn't start growing..which meant that his shield charm really was good at hold up still. And boom, barely a second later...he sent a simple Ears to Kumquats at the Slytherin.

And just in case she needed to remember that he was going to win this -- he was very determined -- Rooney sent another spell her way. To make sure that she wasn't going to get out of all of this unscathed. "EVERTE STATUM!"
