Digging was another thing that would definitely give him an outlet at that moment. Jaemin wasn't even at all fussed that this was the second hole he'd dug for this activity, and the small boy took the shovel easily to go about it. The dirt was ending up in a rather haphazard pile next to the hole, but... yet again, not something he was fussed over. There was enough dirt across the grounds for them to carry on.

"The squid goes in the kimchi paste for kimchi," he murmured, jabbing the shovel into the ground rather hard. "You have to make it salty for that, but when it's on its own it's just chewy. Tastes good."

They didn't eat squid very often in his house, not on its own - they had a healthy mix of Korean food and local stuff, at least he assumed. Enough so that nothing he'd encountered so far in the great hall had been out of place or weird. But whenever they went to a restaurant in their neighbourhood that let them cook their food on the table, the small boy always made a point of talking his parents into ordering it. He liked how chewy it was.

Thinking about that also dulled his anger a bit more, though the boy's demeanor and expression were still darker than usual and he was still making it a point to ignore the woman, should she consider talking in his direction again. He did his best to get the hole to match the one he'd dug over in the other area, then looked at the fire that was cooking the however-you-said-it. There was enough ember and ash to the one side that he could take some, he was sure... Jaemin filled the shovel up with the stuff, twice over, and dumped it unceremoniously into the hole before putting another good-sized log in its place.

"I think they'll still cook lots of stuff... there are people who aren't in this class-" lucky them, "-and professors and stuff that need to eat too."

And if there wasn't food in the great hall when they went back to the school... well, they could always bother the elves in the kitchen. They were nice enough, and helpful. Most of the time.
