If unrolled, the paper would be found to be infinitely long as far as anyone could tell. There was probably and end somewhere, or was there? She had plans for this for awesome art stuff later. Penelope smiled, thinking about how fun it would be to get some people to do art with and draw or paint on the paper. She set the roll of paper down in the art nook and was about to try unrolling a short section of it when she saw something strange going on in the library. Leaving the paper in the art nook, Penelope went to see what was going on in the library. Quote:

Hadley stopped at the bookshelves and with an uncoordinated hand, she reached up and pulled a book off the top corner, stared blankly at the cover and dropped it at her feet. The next book was pulled off, stared at, and dropped. Then the next book and the next book and the next book. All the while Hadley swayed unbalanced. Find it...find it... It appeared that Haddie was pulling books off of the shelf and dropping them on the floor. Nobody got away with mistreating books on Penelope's watch, not even Haddie. Penelope put her left hand on her hip and tried to look serious. "Hadley Denaker, that's no way to be treating books." Penelope stepped a little closer to Haddie. There was something different about Haddie in a very wrong kind of way. This wasn't the Hadley Denaker that she knew. "Haddie?" Penelope instinctively reached for her wand and backed away from Haddie a few steps. Her wand was out and pointed at Haddie, and Penelope was ready to take action should something happen. Haddie wasn't going to get away. What in Merlin's beard was going on with Haddie? Still focusing on Haddie, Penelope sent a patronus message off to Mr. Kitridge. Penelope was scared for Haddie, and she didn't want to face whatever this was alone. Seemed like the sort of thing that Mr. Kitridge ought to know about. "Haddie, I'm really sorry but something's wrong and I can't let you wander around the school like this. Incarcerous!" As much as she hated using magic on a student outside of classes and dueling club, she believed that it was necessary in this case for safety reasons. It wasn't normal for Haddie to be mindlessly throwing books on the ground, and there was no telling what else Haddie might do that might put Haddie or other students at risk. Penelope couldn't remember feeling this scared since that time when acromantulas attacked the school. She wanted Rooney or Mr. Kitridge to be here, and she wanted Haddie to be safe. What if she had made the wrong decision about using incarcerous on Haddie? No, she couldn't doubt herself now. It was just the fear getting to her. Everything would work out and Haddie was going to be safe. But what if it didn't and there was something seriously wrong with Haddie that couldn't be fixed? Penelope needed to remain calm until Mr. Kitridge could get here. She was going to watch Haddie and help would come. Penelope still had her wand at the ready. Please be okay, Haddie.
