Clutching a steaming mug of coffee, she wandered over to the mismatched chairs. There were other employees milling around so Megan diverted from the crowd to ease into a faded green chair. "This is more like it,'' she muttered. She felt very comfortable and at peace. That is, until she noticed the guy seated close by. Hmm, should she move? Or would it come off as rude? "Mind some company?'' The words were out of her mouth before she could properly make up her mind.

Alex felt like all of this stuff in the newest briefing had already been covered in the most recent meeting they had, but that didn't stop him from underlining all the important stuff with a green quill just to be sure he didn't miss anything. Alex always liked to triple check these things - just in case. Because it would be SUPER embarrassing if he didn't know about something the next time it was brought up and he looked stupid amongst his colleagues. He was still trying to fit in and act like he knew everything about plants...it wasn't at all true, but you know. He had to do it.

He jumped slightly when someone started talking to him, and he realized that she was asking if she could join him. Erm...ok? It wasn't all THAT intriguing, this briefing, and he probably should try and like...socialize. Right?

"Oh, um...yeah. That's fine," he said with a chuckle, shifting himself slightly in his chair so that he was facing her more. "I guess I could use a distraction from this paperwork...stuff," he added, trying to break into conversation and probably just making awkward small talk.
