Hadley stood eager to practice the spell. She found it easier to get the hang of a new spell when standing. Had it gotten colder in here? It might have been her imagination after all the ghost dog talk, but it definitely felt colder.
Hads stepped a bit closer to one of the Blue bell flames, hoping it would give her a little warmth and drew Kira. She started by practicing the wand movements that Sir Knight showed them. A quick clockwise circle in the air and a flick at the end. She practiced it several more times before moving on.
Clockwise circle with a flick. "Lumos Leeven!" She was careful not to pronounce the s at the end. Nada. Seriously? What was up with her? It's like she was worse at casting spells than she was last year when she was a first year. This spell wasn't particularly harder than a standard Lumos spell was, and yet, nothing. Which a frustrated sigh, Hadley tried again. Clockwise circle with a flick. "Lumos Leeven!" Nothing. Clockwise circle and a flick, "Lumos Leeven!" That one got a faint burst of blue. So she was almost there. "Lumos Leeven!" Now her wand was producing a strong and steady blue light.
Finally.
Hadley ended the spell, and practiced it a few more times to be safe while she waited for the next part of the assignment.
