Why did he have to say anything?!
Hirsch could have hit himself right then and there but it wasn't the time. Instead, he had to put on this face that suggested that he was completely okay with this suggestion."A pony it is." It was a good thing that he was on James' good side he hoped. As for the comments about unicorns, the man simply let her continue her stance on it, deciding that it would be best to not comment on it. See, he knew better and knew that unicorns do exist but there was no use in ruining someone's dreams.
Or so he thought.
Does he believe that unicorns exist? Er. "I think they do, yes." Good. Simple. No explanation needed. She was going to drop the subject after this, wasn't she? Not ask James if he too believed in unicorns as well?
He was being called silly by someone who was almost twenty years younger than him. That was saying a lot, to be honest. "But surely, you want to look nice for the pony, right? How will you ride a pony in baggy clothes?" Not that he had any experience in the matter but, you know, common sense. Or maybe it was just him trying to push forward the idea of seeing Nana first.
But she wanted to see the pony first. Sigh. Kids. "Pony it is, then," he said, starting to get up, "Come on, they won't be in here."
Please let James be in a good mood.
