There are dangers all over, you could get lost, taken, try to run away." Plenty of dangerous things even in the castle could happen that the boy would need his wand to save his life.
He turned to see that Miranda had done it on the first try. Impressive for a first year, but not fully out of the ordinary here. "Very good Miranda, this spell is a basic animation. There are many charms that can make the art work do many more things, but lets start with the basics at the moment."
Turning back to Blaise he couldn't help but notice he hadn't even brought out his wand. "You do have your wand today don't you? It is needed for every charm lesson. A wizard should never go anywhere without it." If he didn't have it there really was no point of being in class today. Well if that was the case then he would die, definitely, no question about it. Only way out would be if his friends were in the same place freezing too because then they could share body heat and even better most of them knew how to cast 'incendio' by now. This was why it was so important to have friends, they could literally be the difference between life and death.
The man's questions drew him from his thoughts. Wand? His wand? "I know," about the wand being needed every lesson that is,. Why else would he skip so frequently? "but to be fair, I wasn't planning to attend in the first place. This was all last minute. Took me completely by surprise when I least expected it." Nevermind that this was a core subject that happened to be mandatory. Having had no intention of showing up, the boy had left his wand in his trunk--as he did most every other day of the week. It wasn't his fault Professor Airey had forgotten to make sure his wand was present before hauling him here. This was why you left well enough alone students that were trying to hide.
And all at once he saw it, the opportunity he'd been hoping for. The most innocent of expressions settled across his features as he looked to the man in feigned earnest. "It's currently in my trunk Professor. I'd be more than happy run up to my Common Room for it." Mhmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
