Paul couldn't help it. He did his best not to hug his students unless it was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, and here, he deemed it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. He hugged Oliver quickly and yelped in delight, taking the pin in his hands in a dainty fashion.

There had been a lot of things that had happened to Olly when he had not expected it. Like yesterday at breakfast when he had taken a drink of his pumpkin juice and gotten coffee. Or last week when he was going out only to find it was raining, which messed with his plans a bit. The point was that sometimes things don't happen when you don't expect them to and you just have to go with the flow. Olly certainly had not expected Professor Myers to hug him. Not then and not ever. But it was happening and Olly was hugging him back - because it would be rude not to - until everything was going back to normal.
Points?! He got points for finding that thing? All he had done was pick up a strange object and stuff it in his pocket. It had been a much more valuable find than he had thought.
"Wow. I'm glad I came in here. It's good you got it back." You know, because of the whole murdering situation he could have found himself in.
"It was...um..." Where had he found it again? Or right.
"It was by the mirror. Almost stuck under it. Good thing I was late for class."
Maybe that part wasn't necessary.
