Don't get him wrong he loved the student interactions but sometimes they tended to just add to his list of things to do rather then make it shorter.

Could you blame a librarian for wanting to spend time with just his precious books and the smell of them? Probably not Leo reasoned as he headed for bookcases the stored the books on magical theory. That explained why things were as they were in the world. Gathering up a handful of books Leo headed into one of the aisles spotting a student at the end of it perusing books, barefoot and without school robes.

This student he however didn't need any school robes to recognise from a short distance. Stopping Leo called over genuinely curious. "Good morning Daxton, what book has drawn you here in the early morning without proper footwear or robes?" It had to be a special book, right?
If the footsteps had not given away that there was someone nearby, the sound of the trolley definitely had. Even as Daxton stared at the books lined up on the shelf immediately in front of his face, he focused more on the sounds that were slowly approaching, attempting to make a deduction on who was most likely to round the corner. Most likely was Kitridge, given the trolley, the weight of the footfalls, and the early hour. But it could just as easily been an over-eager seventh year, wasting their time by working in the library.

He did not have to wait long to find out the answer, and even as Daxton reached out to pull a book off the shelf at random, the Librarian came into view right at the very edge of his eye line. Daxton did not look up just yet, and instead chose to pretend to flip through the book he had picked out, which just so happened to be one he had read before. Scrunching up his nose ever so slightly, Daxton returned the book to the shelf just as he heard Kitridge call across to him.

Glancing over, and then back at the shelves straight ahead, Daxton gave an automatic shrug. Being so used to people pointing out his strange attire, he did not pay much attention to that part of the question, but became fixated at once on the idea that a specific book had drawn him here. Perhaps it was true, in a way; Daxton was always on the lookout for those perfect books, the ones that perfectly satisfied his ongoing quest for knowledge in any given subject. Such books were hard to come by, though, no matter how many times he had browsed even the enormous collection here at Hogwarts.

Eventually, Daxton looked over at Kitridge again, and gave a simple shake of the head, to indicate that he did not actually know what it was he was looking for. Not today, at least.

The remark about his shoes and robes went unaddressed, as Daxton had completely failed to pick on its significance. He pulled another book from the shelf - this time bearing a title that he recognised from his 'To Read/Research' list - and rifled through the first few pages.
