catching up || just one megapost sorry || Professor question Ability is nothing without Opportunity | | Creativity is Intelligence having FUN ''....gravity is the force of attraction between any two objects made of matter.....'
Oh man the jokes he can come up with just on this itty bitty statement alone.
But right, sciencey talk. He can follow it mmhm. But now the Professor is teaching them a new spell-- on how to keep the apple from falling back down? Hmmm this Gryffindor had questions...
Up goes the hand "Professor... Whats the difference between this spell and other levitation spells like Wingardium Leviosa or the Locomotor spell?" because those things, he's actually been able to apply in his life already.
He looked around and this spell looks to be quite tricky-- even the older students had that look on their faces. The Curly Top grabbed his Granny Smiths and held it aloft in his hand, while he twirled his wand counterclockwise to the beat of his chanting "Derivo Gravitatem... Derivo Gravitatem.. Deri--"
--poke goes the end of his wand against the waxy green surface.
----- was that a sizzle? Uhoh.
Tenacius looked closely at his apple. There was some bruising now. Oh maaaan will this thing still work?
The Gryffindor Ace tried it again "Derivo Gravitatem..." twirl once counter clockwise "... Derivo Gravitatem...." twirl again "Derivo Gravitatem." twirl one more tiiiime...
And he tossed his apple up into the air.... Is it slowing down? It is slowing down innit?-- Oh wait its coming back down!...
--Whack! On his curly head. "Ouch."
This was ridiculous. He was able to make his cruiser work day in and day out but cant keep an apple suspended in the air?
He did a few more tries, and each time, it seemed like the apple was slowing down just as it reached its maximum height. But if the spell is supposed to take effect at this point-- it doesn’t, and the apple comes zooming back down.
And for the nth time Tenacius collects his apple from his bag-- because that’s where it flopped into this time-- and the once flawless green fruit looked a little less for wear.
Ugh suddenly his appetite for the tart fruit has waned. |
