♥Dunkin | Pixie's Precious Pea | kpop goddess | sneaky sounder | forever slytherin♥

While Jaemin didn't necessarily need practice when it came to casting this spell... it never hurt. The small Slytherin bounced a bit in his seat and looked around for Prefect Dot, giving the older girl a happy grin when he caught her eye. She already knew he could do it, as did Airey. He was ahead of the game!

He hadn't gotten to show Airey just how good he'd gotten at it, though. NOW WAS THE TIME. Jaemin turned his attention back to his apple and gave it a light pat before tugging his wand out of his pocket and pointing it at the tasty-looking granny smith.

"Don't make me look bad, okay?" he whispered to it, hand absently turning his wand in small circles as he addressed the apple. It had become a habit, and probably not a good one, because Merlin knew what he might accidentally cast someday. "I can do this spell really well now, so just be good and go right up where you're supposed to."

The boy let his wand turn in a few more circles before he finally focused on doing the spell. He put ALL his focus on that apple, not sparing a thought for anyone or anything else.

"Derivo Gravitatem..." One circle done, just on time as he'd practiced. SOOOO MUCH PRACTICE. He'd worked hard on the timing over the summer, since he couldn't actually cast it then. A stick worked just as well s a wand when you weren't allowed to use your wand. "Derivo Gravitatem." Two down, one to go. Jaemin's little nose wrinkled, and he said the last one with all the bundled up meaning he had inside of him. "Derivo Gravitatem!"

A bit of soft white misty light, and then the apple was just sitting there... waiting to be tested. The diminutive boy bit down on his bottom lip and, with a look at Airey... tossed the apple straight up in the air.

While it didn't stay up, it also didn't come back down nearly as quickly as the tennis ball had done last term. He had worked on this spell a LOT, and it showed. The apple took its time, descending back down toward him as if it were making its way through thick, cold, sticky syrup.

Close enough, right?!
