Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll Adelon was so proud of how well Fiyero was doing at Hogwarts! From the letters he sent, she knew he'd been sorted into Gryffindor - her old house - and was already making friends. Aside from breaking his camera in Herbology class - Chris nearly fainted when he read the part about the professor putting shrinking potion in the kids' tea - he seemed to be adjusting to life at Hogwarts quite nicely.
Today, after getting off early from her job at St. Mungo's, she decided to take her two younger children with her to Diagon Alley to put together a care package for Fiy. She'd just got his camera back from Wiseacres - she knew he'd be happy to have that back - and the photos he'd already taken. He'd promised one of them to a girl, how sweet! But she wanted to surprise him with a little extra something. As she perused the aisles, she thought about sending a skiving snackbox but quickly decided against it. She didn't want Fiy losing house points, and besides, she knew her nephew Killian would have more than enough to share. Ariel usually loved going to Diagon Alley with her mom. Any other time, She would've made a beeline for the toy displays, but this time she didn't want another fairy doll or unicorn balloon. She wanted her big brother back! With Fiy at Hogwarts, now there was no one to play with her or protect her from the mean Muggle boy next door. She wanted to be strong for her baby brother, like she knew Fiy would've been, but she couldn't stop herself from bursting into tears when her mom asked her what she wanted from teh store. "I j-just want Fiy to come back!" she sobbed, burying her face in her mother's robes.
Oh, dear! This would never do! Ariel's cries had gotten Heathcliff started. Now Adelon had two small crying children to deal with, and the people in the shop were starting to stare. Heath calmed down after a couple of minutes of being bounced on her hip, but somehow she didn't think Arie would be comforted so easily. "Shh... Arie, it's okay," she whispered, stroking her daughter's hair. "You'll see him again soon; it'll be Christmas before you know it! Until then he'd want you to be brave. Can you do that?" Arie nodded, wiping her eyes, and Adelon smiled. "Good, now why don't you go pick out a present for him?"
She was back not long after with a stuffed lion tucked under her arm. "Do you think he'll like this?" she asked. Truth be told, Adelon doubted it. FIy was always saying he was too old for toys, but she had to admit, it was perfect for her own little lion cub.
before she could speak, Heath yanked the toy out of Arie's hand. "Cat! Cat!" he exclaimed. Adelon laughed; she knew there was no way they were getting that back! Heath squeezed the lion's tummy, and his eyes widened as it roared. "Cat-cat no meow!" "That's a lion, sweetie," Adelon informed her son. "It's a big cat-cat, and big cat-cats roar."
