Gabby resisted the urge to sigh in frustration over the other woman's silliness because above the fact that they were friends, Lynley was her boss. Obviously she would be going on maternity leave; as if that would ever change. As much as she wanted to stay at work until she had the baby, she knew that it was a bad idea.

Instead, she looked at the paperwork. "In mid March." And no, she wasn't hiding the ring. Why should she do that when she was happy? Clearly Lynley wasn't from her reaction, but what was the problem when she had been perfectly fine with Gabby's previous marriage? Was it Archer?
