Kitty was developing a very strong anti-Divination outlook. The whole idea of not being able to change ones fate truly bothered Kitty and was contradictory to her personal philosophy. And then last year their teacher had tried to EAT them! That a cannibal was the best person the Headmistress could find was proof that it was a horrible subject, at least in Kitty's mind. So far Professor Yoon hadn't tried to eat them, and she seemed like she could be likeable and maybe even a good teacher. But she was also the only teacher who outlawed the wearing of excessive makeup in class. Kitty ALWAYS wore Gothic makeup to every class she attended. Without it she felt vulnerable. And now she was forbidden to wear it.
Before Professor Yoon, the only people at Hogwarts who knew what Kitty looked like underneath all her Gothic makeup were the girls who slept in her dorm, and anyone who noticed when Miffy and Peeves through glue at them. But now everyone knew. And that made Kitty nervous...and angry.
Kitty walked right up to Professor Yoon with her head held high. "Good afternoon Professor," the Gothic girl greeted her curtly with her hands crossed in front of her. Then she read her cookie's message aloud for no particular reason. "Disease can be cured; fate is incurable. -- Chinese proverb." She paused. "Is my makeup okay? I'm sorry if I don't know what 'too much' makeup means. I am just being myself." The only makeup she was wearing today was black eyeliner, lipstick, and nails. She felt tempted to say that it was her fate that she wear lots of makeup and that there was nothing that Professor Yoon could do to change that, but she didn't want to get in trouble.
