He still had a lot of... trust issues... with Divination. The professor last term had taken her time about coming around to the point of Attempted Child Eating, and Jaemin couldn't be sure that this one wasn't going to do the same. Sure, she hadn't done anything yet, but that didn't mean that she wouldn't try soon. Wasn't that how things worked? Lull them into a false sense of security, and then BAM. You were suddenly Student Stew with a side of crackers and cheese.
Not happening. Not to him, nope. Not this term, nor any. The small boy slinked into the room quietly, eyes immediately landing on the professor; he watched her for a good long minute before giving her a little wave in greeting and taking a seat at a table that was safely between her desk and the door. Far enough away from the desk that he could run if anything went sideways, far enough from the door that he could still see what was happening at the front of the room. The fortune cookies were bypassed, because they could not be trusted.
The chair was squishy. He bounced a little in it before giving the food and tea on the table a rather dubious look. Was it safe? Or was it laced with "fall asleep and wake up in a pie" stuff? He picked up a crumpet and sniffed at it questioningly before setting it down. He would... wait. He'd wait. And see if anyone else ate stuff and had a reaction. |
