Oooooooh, on the very contrary.

"We are not going anywhere!" she hissed. A small voice was telling her to be kinder, as Haddie was basically a child and not the teenager who had woken everyone up a few days ago by announcing that she was thirteen, but she shut that voice up. "We're staying here until you're back to normal." So she had better get comfortable. HOW had her parents managed to deal with her? Katherine had spent only 20 minutes or so with her, but she was already exhausted. She wanted to lie down on her bed, but she couldn't in case Haddie tried to run away. She stayed by the door to block her, and tried to organise her thoughts. Where to start?

"Yes," she said impatiently, "it's even yours. Its name is -" What was the animal's name? Katherine had no idea, even though she must have heard it a hundred times now. Which meant that she had become better at tuning Haddie out.

Or ignoring your friend's dearest animal, ignoring someone who could teach you a lot...

"Its name is Tucker," she lied as the two voices battled in her head, "but don't take it out now. You don't want to lose it."

She took a deep breath and looked at the blonde girl who was doing it all on purpose.

"Why?" she asked, even though Haddie didn't remember anything, was only seven, just wanted to discover the castle blah blah. "Why did you mess your potion up?" Just... why?

Why was Kat--she called Katherine Kat, because Haddie liked cats--so grumpy? And boring. She was really boring. The seven year old paced the room bored. "Why do we have to stay here though? There's nothing to do!" She looked around, but it was hard to believe she was really a 13 year old witch at a school that taught magic and had the ugliest uniforms imaginable. "It's boring! When is the stupid potion gonna work?"

She stopped. Her eyes went wide and her mouth dropped. "Mr. Poppy!" How had she not noticed her very best friend on the bed! Rushing over, the girl climbed up onto the bed and wrapped her arms around the beloved rabbit. She didn't even care he had a stitched up scar down the right side of his face. "He's my very best friend in the whole wide world!" The child's expression became a bit sullen suddenly and she relaxed her hug of the toy rabbit. "I don't have a lot of friends..." She admitted. "I bet you do though. Do you have a lot of friends?"

Tucker chirped desperately at her, and her tiny heart melted again. Poor boy just wanted to be out of the cage. She didn't blame him. Could they just let him out a little? But Kat was asking why she messed up the potion. Haddie curled her knees to her chest and stared somberly at Mr. Poppy. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to mess up." But she always seemed to. She guessed that didn't change even when she was thirteen. "I'm going to let him out." Haddie was off the bed and opening Tucker's cage before Kat could stop her.
