"I'll admit I would've been disappointed to hear otherwise." But maybe he was biased. "You've been working hard, I can tell that it'll work in your favor." Especially with the head start she had.
"And while I'm glad to hear you had an enjoyable summer," he looked around, "I've been meaning to find you to extend a congratulations," he smiled. Ought to say why, yeah? Or had she figured that much out on her own?
There was nothing to say that Hady would be telling anyone about this. Even if it was something to boost about that wasn't like her to do. Arguments, apologies, relationships, friendships things of that sort were near and dear to her therefore what happened in them were between her and the other person mostly. So as rare and incredible as it was this was being kept to herself.
"No need for any disappointment there Professor, it was so much more then I could've ever asked for." Granted she hardly ever asked for anything but still James would get the point. She ALWAYS worked hard. Gave everything 110% all the time. "I really hope so."
What? Hadleigh looked at him with a look of puzzlement clearly written all over her face. Extend congratulations...to her? Why?
"I- for what Sir?" she asked quietly chewing on the inside of her cheek in thought. What had she done?!
