Levitating wasn't hard though and with her amount of concentration she was sure that everything would be just fine. "Just be careful of the torns once you're up there, okay?" Torns were tricky and she didn't want the kid getting herself hurt.
Hady laughed softly. "It is. That's the trimming charm and it's rather easy. All you have to do is this..." she explained showing her the proper wand movement a few times. "Give it a go real quick before send you up there." She watched Hattie give it a try a few times making sure the movements were as should be. "Ready now? It doesn't hurt at all and I won't drop you, when you're ready to come down just shout so and I'll lower you down." It was as simple as that. Holding her wand firmly she pointed it at Hattie waiting until she knew she was ready. "Wingardium Leviosa," Hadleigh spoke clearly preforming the movement as she spoke. Just so this worked correctly.
"Good" Hattie beamed at the older girl. She didn't want to get hurt in her very first month at Hogwaarts. She knew that she was bound to get hurt at some point, but she didn't want it to be falling out of a Rose when she was in little form. So that was good. Good at Haddie wouldn't get her hurt. "I'll be careful" the first year nodded smiling at her friend. "I don't want to get hurt" Hattie was going to try her best to not let any of the thorns hit her. Because that would be pretty tragic.
Hattie smiled, watching the older girl perform the wand work for the spell. "Okay. I think I got it...." The blonde nodded, as she quickly had a go at the spell, so that she could do it correct when she was up in the air. She smiled up at her friend. She was totally ready for this. "yes. I'm ready!" She nodded, holding her wand ready. She closed her eyes just as she began to rise, but then opened them so she could work her way through the thorns. Smiling, she performed the wand movement, and said "Flipnsnipwitit." Nothing happened then. "Oh...." she frowned, shaking her head.
Maybe she needed to concentrate more. Concentrating, she repeated herself, and yay a leaf fell off. "Perfect!" She giggled, continuing to do the charm, though she was still concentrating lots. She pulled the dead leaves away as they were snip snip snipped out of the Rose. And then she was done. "Okay Hadleigh. Im done. All leaves have been snipped away!" And she couldn't wait to get her feet back onto the ground. It was just in time too because she'd heard the Professor tell them to gather in the middle. Perfect timing then.
