Blaise was having a moment, the kind where he wanted to tell Daxton not to just KNEEL THERE but to DO SOMETHING. However, he did realize the error in his thinking before articulating as much. This was Daxton, he could not fix him or perhaps would not. At the moment, Blaise wasn't sure which it ultimately was but it didn't calm him down any more.

Tiny. He was now perfectly squishable and he did not remember signing up for this. Who did this sort of thing anyway and why did it ever seem like a good idea? He seemed to remember a conversation last term with Professor Myers where he told him exactly how he felt about magic and the man goes and forces magic on him? It was enough to have the young boy kicking at the dirt--which had much bigger particles now--and yelling words his mother would scrub his tongue for a month if she ever heard him say in his newly acquired tiny voice (which only served to aggravate him further).

In the next second, he saw his life flash before his eyes for two distinctly different reasons and it shut him up immediately. Eyes very wide now with his hands moving to protect his head any way they could.

Oh Merlin. This was it. He always KNEW magic was gonna be the thing to kill him, but he always assumed it would be his own wand and more along the lines of not working when he needed it to. Circe, to think he accused Hirsch of trying to kill him when it was Myers all along---eh?

"Put me down! Putmedown! Putmedown! Putmedown!" Blaise's arms flailed wildly on either side in an futile effort to free himself from the girl's grasp. Could this day get any worse????????? As if on perfect cue, the universe sought to answer that. Yes. Yes it could. "Professor Airey heeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Professor Myers SHRUNK ME then LEFT ME TO WANDER THE GROUNDS WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A WARNING AND I DON'T WANT TO KEEP BEING THIS SIZE! HE DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME I WAS GONNA BE SMALL, JUST DID IT AND I WANT TO HAVE MLE CONTACTED PLEASE!" Surely this broke some law or the other. Child endangerment?

Daxton shot a look at the other girl. She was no longer under any Blaise-related suspicion, not after it had become clear that Blaise's predicament was simply an effect of Myers' literary themes lesson, but he had been getting a closer look at Blaise when the Gryffindor was rudely taken away. He straightened, making no comment (obviously) about the girl's potential plans to keep Blaise in a jar, apparently more concerned with brushing the courtyard-dirt from the knees of his trousers.

And then... the thud. Daxton recognised that thud. He would have called it The Thud of His Nemesis, were he not being careful to avoid personifying the stupid rock in the same way that its owner did. Either way, the sound of that thud always preceded the sound of a certain Astronomer, and though Daxton often found himself wanting to provoke or antagonise him into a reaction, this was one situation in which he did not want to be noticed at all.

Looking up, he found that he was (obviously) correct. Airey Flamsteed was heading straight towards them, dragging that infernal rock behind him on its stupid leash and going on about how they should be in Herbology. Daxton took a quick survey of the surroundings; they were outside, so there were was plenty of space, an exit in practically every direction, and they were by no means trapped. If he moved fast enough while Airey Flamsteed was distracted, he could make a run for it. He was not going back to Herbology, escorted or otherwise.

Starting a little at the sudden loud exclamation regarding Blaise's recently acquired tiny stature, Daxton looked back at the Gryffindor, who immediately launched into his tiny tirade. Perfect. A perfect distraction. Airey Flamsteed would probably be more concerned with the state of one of his Gryffindor charges, deciphering the angry and high-pitched yelling (which was incredibly pervasive and overwhelming to Daxton's already overworked ears), and the apparent safety risk. If there was ever a chance to run, it was now.

Daxton glanced from Airey Flamsteed, to Tiny Blaise, to the girl who had now been identified as Iver, then back to Airey Flamsteed. Not wasting another second, he suddenly made a break for it. If he reached the castle, there were plenty hiding places and secret passageways provided by the castle on the way to the seventh floor, and he could be at the Room of Requirement in barely any time at all.

Every man for himself.

She wasn't really going to keep him in a jar, but the flailing of the itty bitty Bellaire was terribly amusing to the girl. "Stop your squirming before I drop you," she chided. "Or you'll have to go in my pock---"

It was the thud that drew Nicky's attention and she looked up, only to see one Airey Flamsteed on the way. Muttering, indelicately, under her breath, the girl straightened up and glanced at Daxton as the man spoke, who looked ready to bolt. "Don't you da--" well, nevermind then. The boy was off and it was just Nicky, Bitty Blaise, and the man with the rock.

She could see it in his face. He thought that she'd done this. And the crack about the bathroom... well, that was just enough to key her up. Sucking on her teeth, she considered her response, Gryffindor still in hand.

"Professor Myers knows where we are, so you don't have to worry there," she began. It was technically true. He hadn't stopped them, and he very well could have. So as far as Nicky was concerned, that was permission to leave. "And actually, yes," she smirked back. "No loo in the greenhouse. I'm thinking I may need to see the healer about it actually, but mum's a big fan of muggle cures, so I'm going to stop by the kitchens for some cranberry juice first. Infections are nasty business" She could go on, on this point, if you'd like, Professor, as she gestured vaguely with her free hand. But Blaise was squeaking and squeaking away.

"But as for this..." she used her free hand to gesture to the boy. "He just shrunk out of nowhere and I was going to bring him to you, since he's one of yours. But since you were so kind to meet us halfway..." Nicky, emboldened by the ease with which they had left herbology, took a step forward, and in one fluid motion slipped Blaise into the man's jacket breast pocket.

"Good day." With that, she stepped to the side, fully intending to pass him by.

There was....an awful lot of loud squeaking going on from the tiny Mr. Blaise...and Airey was understanding precisely 0% of it despite the Gryffindor having his undivided attention at the moment. Although he did think he may have heard a please in there somewhere...maybe?

But any inclination he had had to trying to make out what Mr. Blaise was saying was quickly snuffed out by Mr. Prince's attempt at escape. "DAXTON PRINCE," the astronomer barked paternally at the boy, his wand at the ready to prevent further self dismissal should the need arise. "Back here. NOW."

Consider that the first and final warning.

"What do you mean he knows you are here?" the astronomer gaped at Miss Iver. Meaning...what exactly? Obviously they had not been dismissed? Or hopefully rather? WHY WAS THIS ENTIRE SITUATION SO UTTERLY ABSURD?! "Once we are done here, Miss Iver, I will gladly escort you to see Healer Murdoch." Wait...what had she just said? Infection? What?

The man was still a bit too preoccupied with the tiny Gryffindor between her fingers...but now was also thinking about cranberry juice...

SWEET SOLSTICE COULD JUST ONE OF THEM STAND STILL?!

Oh wait, no, she was moving towards him and....

"MISS IVER! THERE IS AN EXTENSION CHARM IN PLACE ON THAT POCKET!"

SWEET SOLSTICE THEY MAY NEVER FIND BLAISE BELLAIRE AGAIN!

Well, erm....if that was the case then...well... making Herbology the third class, apparently, that the boy was skipping would be the least of his concerns?
