Did she know how ridiculous she sounded, blaming him? It was NOT his fault, she was the one dim enough to trust the opinion of a stranger. Like... YEAH. He was perfectly trustworthy though. He made for an excellent secret-keeper, and had a solid moral compass - save for his comfort in letting people assume he worked places where he didn't. But... that was nothing int he grand scheme of things. B'sides, he was practically Hogwarts royalty. She SHOULD know him. Everyone should.
"Then why didn't you?" Obvious question there. "You asked my opinion, I gave it, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, but that's not my problem." Honestly. He never actually SAID he worked there either, so he still had his plausible deniability card up his sleeve.

It didn't escape his notice that the blonde was closer now, but he wasn't at all perturbed by her presence, if anything, he was amused. "But did he say he hated it?" Because if the dude did, then he wasn't taking it back. BAD FRIEND.
