It was a good thing too. Hady had tried to speak with him at the feast but everyone always knew how that went...horribly. It was a thing now. But what?!

The sixth year just stood there and stared at Draper for the longest time. Had he- Had HE just apologized to her? Why? The girl was slightly confused and it took her more then a second or two to overcome it and regain her train of thought. "That's alright Sir, it hadn't been your fault at all. Everyone knows by now that the feast is the worst time to attempt to speak with someone." It was true. Before she got a chance to say anymore he was asking about her summer. The exact reason why she had gone to the staff table during the feast in the first place. "That's actually why I had wanted to speak with you. I wanted to thank you for helping me with the letter for my internship. I spent the summer in Ireland and it was amazing, there's nothing I would've ever traded that chance for." Did that say anything at all? It should. It had been the best summer of her life to date minus one day the summer before.
He was in a good mood, alright? It was probably because he hadn't had the chance to talk to Paul Myers all day. That normally did him in. So he was alright and she was a good student. One that actually cared and tried hard. He appreciated that.

But.... This silence was uncharacteristic of her. So he gave her a funny little look, waiting to see if she ever decided to speak again. Which, of course, she did eventually. What she had to say about her summer pleased him immensely. Obviously working the proper connections to help her get the position required some extra work, but her response proved that it was worth it. Was Hogwarts watching this? Did they SEE? Tin man actually did have a heart, believe it or not.

If that didn't make him a decent Professor, then he was straight out of ideas. "I'm glad to hear that," actually he was. "So that's it then, you're set?" He should probably elaborate here, yeah? "Healing creatures is definitely the right fit for you?" Normally a kid could pin-point what subjects they liked... But knowing they liked learning about something and then actually doing it... Well, those were two different things.

So this hands on experience could be a make it or break it.
