Or she was grasping at straws. You decide.

The "come in" caught her off guard though. Usually the professors open the door and let you in. Hadley shrugged and decided to have a bit of fun with it. She threw open the door dramatically, and marched in the office as if she was the DADA Professor's boss. Hands firmly placed on his desk, she leaned forward, eyes narrowing to show she meant business. "Listen, Hirsch!" she accused. "You promised us on Jaemin's birthday to teach us the Patronus Charm. And today is my birthday, so you have to teach us!" Her eyes narrowed just a bit more to drive the point home. Then the now teenage Hadley relaxed, and flashed Hirsch the same innocent, pearly whites and dimples not really smile she gave Jaemin outside. "Please?"

Yes, she was in a good mood today. Why wouldn't she be? It was her birthday. She was 13. She was back at Hogwarts. And not at home with her Dad. Today was a great day.

She clasped her hands together in mock pleading to Hirsch, smile never fading.

Just because she insisted on being stupidly tall didn't mean he had to be. The small Slytherin looked at her rather petulantly before turning his attention to Hirsch, and standing back as she went into her... theatrics.

It was clear she was playing though, especially with the expression she went right back into afterward, and Jaemin moved to stand next to her at the desk. He too gave Hirsch his most pleading look, with a bright smile before he leaned in toward Haddie and whispered to her. "Happy birthday, by the way. Dunno that I said it before."

What in the name of?!

Hirsch raised his eyebrows at the spectacle that was Haddie Denaker. If someone had told him that he was going to be practically threatened by someone almost twenty years younger than him, he would've laughed in their face. But this was far too real to be considered a joke.

And yet, the man found himself battling back a laugh.

Eyebrows raised, he let the Ravenclaw finish, only letting an amused smile cross his face when she was done. "You sure know how to make demands, Haddie." See, anyone else actin under the guise of professionalism would've probably said something about respect but then again, when was Hirsch ever one of those people? "Happy birthday, by the way. You must be very happy to be kicking off your teenage years." Oh, how he wished he could warn her about the hormones and awkwardness to come.

Ah, will you look at that? Jaemin was here and he was whispering into Haddie's ear. Which, by the way, did nothing for the ideas that the man had in his head about these two from a previous duel but he was going to let that slide. "Hello, Jaemin. Good to see you, both of you."

And now, onto the main topic of conversation: "So you want to learn about Patronuses? Should we get started?"

She said in a soft voice, there wasn't a smile on her pale face like there was last year.. And her purple eyes were dull..empty almost..

"Umm.. I don't know if you got my Aunt's letter?" She asked as she walked up to his desk.. a piece of parchment in her hand.

Oh, he should've been expecting this.

Almost as soon as he saw the girl's face, he should've known. Everything from her expression to her walk to the way she was talking to him was a clear indication as to what this was going to be about. And frankly, just like the first time he'd received the letter and heard of the news, his heart sank. "Hello, Azura." Should he say something else? Bring up the situation? Ask what she was here for? Because right now, there was simply a dead silence that seemed to stretch on and on and-

Oh, she'd talked. And brought up the topic herself. Good. That saved him the awkward hassle.

"Yes, I did," he said, matching her soft voice with one of his own, "I'm deeply sorry to hear the news. If there's anything we can do to help....... any extra time you need off......" His voice trailed off because frankly, he couldn't figure out what else he needed to say. What do you say to something like this? And to someone so young?

The Third Year slid into the office, glancing behind him only to be sure the Professor didn't lock his quick quotes quill and notepad out 'by accident'. Some people didn't like to be quoted, even fewer liked to be misrepresented; go figure. Inside, Blaise turned to face the man, not bothering with the whole sitting and getting comfy business because that would make the Professor think they were on good terms--and while they were not on bad terms and Blaise ACTUALLY attended his lessons instead of skipping like he did with Charms and Transfig, they still had some things to hash out.

"I'd very much like if you'd stop trying to get me killed." There. The erumpent in the room. He'd said it. No beating around the bush and no taking it back now. Not that he'd want to.

"First Professor Dakest and now you. I know one less student to teach and one less test to grade might seem ideal but don't I deserve a future, Sir? Don't I deserve to grow as old as you and become a REAL man? What have I ever done to you?"

Serious question. Serious serious.
...... O...... kay?

See, usually visitors would get comfortable in a seat, with some getting a little too comfortable and some others looking as though they wanted to leave as soon as they had arrived. But this was new. Blaise wasn't even sitting in a seat, instead opting to stand, which only made him receive a weird look from Hirsch.

The man was almost about to direct him towards the right place - in case he wanted to be polite, something that his nation did a lot, he came to find - but before he could, the Gryffindor launched into a story of his own.

Wait, say what?! KILL him?!

Hirsch stopped and stared. He wasn't the most eloquent of people but he was now at a loss for words. Thanks for that, Bellaire. It was too early and there was too much of a lack of coffee in his day for him to process this piece of information. He needed somethings strong, maybe an espresso, to properly think about this because...... again, WHAT?!

"I'm..... not trying to kill you?" Uh. "I'm trying to teach you about the Dark Arts and how to defend yourself against them. It's to ensure that you can protect yourself, which'll only benefit you in the future." And he was going to ignore being called old for the time being. "Why do you think I'm trying to kill you?!" Please elaborate, kid.
