So they weren't acting-responsive roses, just affected by temperature, but Professor Myers had still complimented her for her answer, and Rula was totally fine with that. Compliments made everything better.

But then Rooney and a Gryffindor girl were also joining in on the act? This lesson was a lot more exciting than she'd expected it to be. Maybe Herbology wasn't so bad after all!

But THEN a bit of a disagreement broke out between Rooney and a Gryffindor boy. Rula watched the exchange between them and then Professor Myers' response, and then suddenly the Gryffindor and another boy and older girl were leaving. Hm. Apparently that was okay? Since Professor Myers hadn't stopped them. Oh well. Their loss if all this came up on an exam later.

Having been distracted by all that, she missed the next question, though she gathered from other people's answers that it was just about the parts of a rose. They were all covering it just fine, and really all she knew about roses were the obvious stuff you could easily see, like thorns and petals and leaves and stems. So she just sipped her water while they all talked.

Now there was a diagram and they needed to gather around the rosebush and Professor Myers was explaining...what???? Shrinking solution?? In their DRINKS??? It wasn't anything bad obviously, but a little warning ahead of time might've been nice?

Either way, suddenly things were getting bigger around Rula - or, well, she was getting smaller, technically. It was a weird sensation, watching everything suddenly appear huge as she was shrinking... shrinking...shrinking...

Until she was standing on the dirt under the rosebush with everyone else. Oh Merlin, this was...actually...the roses were really pretty from this angle. It was kinda cool to see them like this. She kind of wanted to try to climb them and sit in the petals and see what it was like from a rose's point of view. That sounded lovely.

Unfortunately, they had to solve riddles and follow those instead. But maybe one of the riddles would have to do with climbing them? A girl could hope!

First riddle seemed pretty easy, and quite a few of the other students were already following instructions. Rula pulled out her wand to do the same. "Aguamenti."

Thank Merlin their wands worked even when they'd all shrunk with them.
