Post 8 - Bottoms up! Fluttery Pegasi While the last ten minutes counted down, Hadley flipped through her book until she found the section on aging potions. She wanted to make she knew how to use the potion to get to twenty and not fifty or ninety.
Twenty. That was the goal.
The book stated that one drop is equal to one year. Easy-peasy lemon-squeezey.
And the just like that the sand ran out of the ten minute hourglass for the second time. It was done. She scooped some into a vial, labelled it and held it up to the light. She wouldn't have described the color as emerald green. It was more a forest green, if anything. But it was an easy mistake for some, especially boys, to make. Still, it was done. "Here you go, Professor Newton." Hadley put her labeled vial on his desk and looked squarely at Madame Curie, shaking a finger in warning. "Don't drink any of it!" Ah, how easily she amused herself.
She flashed Professor Newton a confident, excited grin and made her way back to her workstation. Hadley had just successfully brew a potion for the first time. She knew it. After filling up a couple more vials to keep, Hadley grabbed her eyedropper, and sucked a bit of the remaining potion into it.
It was time to test it. Haddie held the dropper above her mouth, and gently squeezed. One drop. Two, three, four. Five. Six. And seven! How long did it take to kick in? The book hadn't said, so while she waited, Hads began cleaning up her workstation, making sure her everything was scourgified and--the world was spinning.
Was this a normal part of it? Hadley was about to ask Newton, since he had already taken one when she lost her balance and fell backwards. The Haddie that landed on the ground, however, was no longer thirteen.
She was seven.
