Philipe blinked to the question. He'd helped his nanny Mary with the garden at their house so he knew all about roses... But to name their parts and their purposes? That could take a while because there were over 50 parts to the shrub and all of them did something different... He glanced around hearing the others answers and kinda figured he might be the only one who knew that much about the plants. So he'd name just a few at least.
"Professor there's quite a lot to a rose actually... But some of the basic parts are the rootstock, which cultivate the roots of a rose which will implant with a bud from another variety." He nodded trying to think of another people might not know, "The sepal which is a part of the calyx. They're the green coverings that fall back to reveal the petals of the rose... Usually a rose will have 5 of them." Two was probably enough, but he figured one more wouldn't hurt, "Oh, and one that not many know, a rose does have bark, it's just the outer layer of the stem."
He smiled, pretty proud of himself for the three answers, not that he couldn't name more, but he figured he'd give others the chance... Hopefully he wasn't the only one who knew there was more to roses than just leafs, stems, petals and thorns. |
