Kimothée Chalamet • The UWU Agenda • Once Baby, Now Trouble • All Growed Up

With all of the equipment placed in front of her, Vivian was ready for some potion brewing action! Vivi looked up at Professor Newton, her eyes following his every movement. She also listened carefully to every word he said. So, they were to mash the hairy fungus first. The Slytherin looked down at the said ingredient. Meh... it was kinda gross. Her nose wrinkled at the sight of it. But... she had no choice, if she wanted to finish things up. She measured all of the ingredients as exact as possible. 100ml of red wine, done. 10ml of that prune juice, done too. 2 grams of hairy fungus, done three. As well as the 2 grams of tortoise shell, and 5 grams of caterpillar. They were all done. The bat tongue... they only needed one. YAY for progress!

Rolling her sleeves up, Vivian pulled the hairy fungus closer to her and gave it one more cringe. She placed the hairy stuff on her mortar and then started pounding it. POUND POUND MASH MASH MASH MASH. Small struggle there, but she will survive! A small portion of the tip of her tongue was sticking out as she mashed the hairy stuff until what Professor said was a "somewhat uniform consistency". She tilted her head a bit. Did this look good enough? She looked at Professor Newton for approval. "Is the consistency alright, Professor? Or... does it need more mashing?" Just to be sure. She didn't want to end this class with half burnt robes or an exploded cauldron, really.

She stared at the tortoise shell. Bahhhh, she'll deal with that one LAST.

Vivian moved on to the caterpillar. She didn't actually find it gross because she'd seen some in her garden at home. She and Francine loved to poke them and take them away from their mum's flowers. She carefully sliced the caterpillar, following what the Professor had said, and then took a moment to judge her handiwork. Ah, it looked good! She would've patted herself on the shoulder for a job well done but... yeah, she had her hands full at the moment.

It was time for the bat tongue now. EEWWWW GROSS! Vivi cringed more and even had to look sideways because.... Merlin, it was disgusting. They were going to dice a poor bat's TONGUE? Horrid, and so.... ugh. Vivi took deep breaths - she was being so dramatic, considering she was raised by a Fairfield father - before finding all the courage to get a grip and cut the said ingredient. First lengthwise, and then diced it from there. Just like how her mummy would dice their cooking ingredients at home! Except not like now, where everything was kinda gross. Ewwuhhh.

Once that was done, she eyed her tortoise shell. Setting aside her now mashed hairy fungus, Vivian cleaned up her mortar and pestle with another "Scourgify." She started pulverising the shell, though she really had a freakin' hard time because it was so SOLID and HARD.

"Uhhh... Professor, I think I'll be needing help with the tortoise shell thing." And a sheepish grin for him. Sorry, her tiny hands couldn't handle it all.
SPOILER!!: Vivian's notebook!

  • 10ml Prune Juice
  • 2g Hairy fungus, mashed
  • 2g Tortoise Shell, powdered
  • 5g Caterpillar, sliced
  • 1 Bat Tongue, diced

  • Slowly heat the red wine and prune juice and begin stirring clockwise until you can just see bubbles starting to form. (The mixture will be dark purple/brown)
  • Immediately add the Hairy Fungus and continue to stir clockwise for ten minutes. (The mixture will slowly fade to a lighter purple/brown)
  • Continuing to stir clockwise, add the tortoise shell. (The mixture will be a creamy color)
  • After eight minutes, remove the cauldron from the heat and add the caterpillar and bat tongue, making sure to continue to stir the solution in a clockwise motion for five minutes, until it changes to a creamy green colour.
