Kneazles were entirely too smart, Daxton knew. He had read things about them, how they could detect people that could not be trusted, or suspicious people, and Daxton was self-aware enough to know that - to a lot of people - he would fall squarely into that category. But then, the exact same was true in reverse.

If he did not hate the idea of owning and potentially becoming attached to any sort of pet, and if he were not cursed with allergy upon allergy, Daxton might have invested in a Kneazle himself; it would certainly have come in handy. Instead, he would make do with his vague plan to get his hands on a Sneakoscope and calibrate it, one way or another.

Daxton tore his eyes away from the cat-like creature again when he became aware of an unexpected movement out of the corner of his eye, and adjusted his gaze to see one of the paper creatures headed for him. He was torn between snatching it from the air and ducking out of its way completely, in case this was a trap, but ended up not moving at all as the paper... was it a... no, he could not say for sure what it was... as the paper thing glided right up to him and gently collided with his chest. Reaching up, Daxton plucked it from the air and held it up in front of his eyes to inspect it.

Interesting.
