When Isabella was 10, the Melo family decided to move to England, where Isabella’s mother had grown up and where two of her grandparents lived. Isabella was not happy about this move because it would take her far away from her cousin and best friend. She eventually was happy about it, though, because she got to spend lots of time with her grandmother.

As the only girl with three brothers, Isabella learned to enjoy sports (including Muggle sports), roughhousing, and playing outside. She still enjoyed receiving a dress from her grandmother on her birthday each year.
