That was the thought Jaemin focused on as Haddie pulled him around by his arm. He wasn't exactly an unwilling participant in this whole thing; he too was eager to learn how to cast a Patronus. However... she was just walking really fast, and while he was prone to zooming about the castle like a tiny jet, he wasn't really feeling as hyper today as he might have been on other days.

At least he knew she wasn't going to try anything weird, like Sachiko. Thank Merlin for sensible girls like Hadley Denaker.

When they finally emerged into the comfortably familiar area outside Hirsch's door, Jaemin pulled his arm away from Haddie and absently fixed his sleeve. "Don't gotta pull me, you know," he murmured lightly, looking up from his arm as she knocked. "I wanna learn it just as much as you do."

Hirsch's office was a place that Jaemin would always turn up at willingly. He bounced lightly on his toes, waiting for the door to open.

Good. Thank Merlin.

Hirsch had been sitting back in his usual armchair, his feet propped up onto the table, when the knocks came. His demeanour didn't change and neither did the expression on his face. He simply sat there and ruffled through his sheets of parchment before deciding to answer whoever it was at the door.

"Come in!"

Haddie rolled her eyes, but there was little true annoyance in the gesture. "Well, I had to make sure you'd keep up Short-stack!" She flashed him a wide, innocent grin, complete with pearly whites and dimples in the cheeks, not really. "The sooner we got here the sooner we can learn it!" See perfectly rational and logical. Or she was grasping at straws. You decide.

The "come in" caught her off guard though. Usually the professors open the door and let you in. Hadley shrugged and decided to have a bit of fun with it. She threw open the door dramatically, and marched in the office as if she was the DADA Professor's boss. Hands firmly placed on his desk, she leaned forward, eyes narrowing to show she meant business. "Listen, Hirsch!" she accused. "You promised us on Jaemin's birthday to teach us the Patronus Charm. And today is my birthday, so you have to teach us!" Her eyes narrowed just a bit more to drive the point home. Then the now teenage Hadley relaxed, and flashed Hirsch the same innocent, pearly whites and dimples not really smile she gave Jaemin outside. "Please?"

Yes, she was in a good mood today. Why wouldn't she be? It was her birthday. She was 13. She was back at Hogwarts. And not at home with her Dad. Today was a great day.

She clasped her hands together in mock pleading to Hirsch, smile never fading.
