Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Naturally, it didn't take very long for the first years to start asking questions. Some where genuinely good, and Frankie hoped that kind of curiosity would carry over into the upcoming lessons. But then some of the other questions were ... not exactly necessary. It took every fibre in his being not to roll his eyes or scowl at the ones who blurted the first thing that popped into their little noggins.
The blond blinked twice when the girl asked what house-elves were. He was a little taken aback that she didn't know, and he was also not sure if that was a question that she wanted them to hear. Just by looking at her, the sixth year could tell that she was both embarrassed and confused. Was she a Muggleborn? He was sure that there was a book somewhere on the book shelves that would get her on the same page as the other first years (not that he actually read it, of course). "They're little creatures, 'bout a couple feet tall, with big ears and squeaky voices," he explained, demonstrating just how small they were with his hands. "They're the ones that do the cooking and cleaning around here. Odds are you won't see them much, but they do pop up every now and then." With a swift nod of his head, he moved on to the next question...
Only to give one of the girls a look the instant the words left her mouth. Did he have a girlfriend? Was she pretty? Frankie wanted to know why a first year was so interested in the love life of their prefect. The blond quickly shot a look at Kaycee, who seemed to be rather amused by the girl's set of questions, that said Just you wait 'til you're the one on the hot seat.
As he opened his mouth to respond to the girl's question, the older boy managed to hear one of the blond-headed boys whisper. They all thought having a girlfriend was funny, did they? Ugh. First years. "Yes, I have a girlfriend. And, yes, she is very pretty. Sorry to crush anyone's hopes and dreams." This time he rolled his eyes.
"If there aren't any more serious questions, then Kaycee will take over from here."
