Ouch. Hadley winced harder.
Abs called her out on her pathetic attempt to relate, and ouch. It hadn't been intentional, but that didn't make it any better either. "Yeah, I know," she said with a sigh. "I'm sorry. Really. I just suck at the whole comforting people thing. I'm like the literal worst at it." She paused, stroking Asher in her lap gently. "Sorry."
Hadley had no idea what else to say to any of it. So she just sat there in awkward silence...
