Hady had meant to swing by Professor Finch's office and ask about their painting sessions but somehow the girl had ended up here instead. It had been sometime since she had been in here. Now that she was learning more about what it took to paint these portraits her appreciation for them had grown ten fold. As it was she was standing before one of the paintings studying the colors and detailing.
It couldn't hurt to get to know one of two of the people inside the portraits either if they wanted to talk to her. As much as he enjoyed having summers off, at least in the official sense, Ansley knew that it was time to get back into a more regulated routine. Early mornings were difficult to get back into the habit and he was feeling a little flustered trying to fit everything he needed to do into his schedule. At least he hadn't had to do any grading yet. That always seemed to have to wait till last minute until he got his things caught up again.
He was actually having a rather productive day today though, all things considered, and he had even managed to check out a few books from the library that he thought could provide inspiration for future lessons. While he looked through one of the books, a certain passage reminded him of Artemesia and he thought of checking in on her. Ansley always had a soft spot for the first portrait he had painted and he was happy to have found a more permanent place for her. But she hadn't been in her frame the last time he was in the gallery before classes began.
Carrying his stack of books, he decided to stop into the gallery before heading to his office. And he saw that he was not alone. "Hadleigh," he smiled giving her an acknowledging nod as he stepped further into the room and came up behind her. "Was there anything in here I could help you with or did you just come in to look around?" He did set up the place for students and staff to explore artifacts on their own, but if she had any questions he'd be happy to answer them. Otherwise, he was just making conversation.
