The thing was being stubborn so far. Every counter-charm they'd thrown at it (at all of them) had had no effect whatsoever. It still bucked like an angry Hippogriff when you rode it.

Whatever the spell was, it wasn't showing itself easily. If only it would. Then he could have written up the paperwork, fixed all the others, and moved on to the next case. As it was, he was somewhat going behind a colleagues back to enlist the help of another person to assist him. Merlin, he hoped they had more luck working as a duo on it. Maybe she could come up with ideas that were eluding him.

But talking of Lex, where was she? He'd said half an hour, and it was nearly that. Anderson took his pocket watch from the inside of his waistcoat pocket and looked down at it, frowning. He was honestly surprised she hadn't rushed everything else she had to do and got there before him. Ahh, well. Soon, no doubt.

Alexa had been in the lab...for about half an hour awaiting the arrival of the Chief Inspector. It hadn't been all that hard, grabbing the few things she needed from her desk and coming to camp out in the lab. In fact, she was in the far corner, presumably hidden by the desks and stations set up--though not intentionally. It wasn't against any rule to work in here and she wasn't hiding, it was merely a consequence of sitting crossed legged on the floor with papers strewn about before her and a sandwich which was no longer in existence after that last bite. Three years as a YATI had given her the habit of floor sitting, afterall, they weren't allowed desks until they became Aurors.

The noise of the door opening peaked her interest. Having craned her neck and getting a look at who her company was, the young Auror began packing up her things. The silent movements weren't a result of trying for stealth but yet another habit she'd picked up.

Finally though, Alexa did hop up from the ground, resting her papers on the closest table before making her way over. "This the broom we'll be looking at?" Aaand a little closer to get a better look. "Have you tried any curse breaking techniques on it yet?"

They'd been taught curse breaker back at Hogwarts. Now go ahead and ask her how much of it she actually remembered. Arithmancy was never her thing.
