He wouldn't ask further about things. He could imagine the raging bull that was Alexa Cambridge when not given work as an appropriate outlet for all that tenacity.
"Are you asking me to put in a formal request for you to be reinstated as my official glorified babysitter rather than you merely maintaining an unofficial title?" Because he totally would. If nothing else than for his own amusement to watch the aftermath.
Yes, he did know, didn't he? Not that she was trying to keep it a secret or anything. In fact, her coffee runs happened during regular work hours too. Didn't matter if she was down in Mysteries or up in the office, when the need for coffee struck, it was straight to Level 3. Chances were, she'd have needed that break anyway. See? Not all work. She knew what breaks were.
"I've gotten perspective alright." Not necessarily in the way she or Legend would have thought but there was perspective nonetheless.
"Gonna be spending a lot more time at my dad's--which reminds me, Jessa wants to know if Derf can sleep over before school starts up again." Last few days of summer and all that jazz.
Her face lit up noticeably at the offer to have her reinstated as his 'glorified babysitter', an obvious indication that she would have LOVED if he did...but then...just as quickly her expression fell and she was suddenly shaking her head.
"Legend would kill, or worse, he'd fire me." Because that was the more serious of the two outcomes, clearly.
"Unofficial might have to be the case, 'least until I can convince him I'm not the horrid workaholic he thinks I am."
But while he was making offers that were meant to make her day......
"You know, Lynnie offered to let me move in with her." This was her getting a little more comfy on his desk.
"Kinda had me wondering how come you never made me that offer."
