Rosemary could hear the distinct voices of Albert and Jack in the house and her heart started thudding in her chest. She felt queasy. It could have been due to the baby she was carrying in her but she knew it was nerves. Everything was about to come out now... everything. She forced a smile when the door was opened. "Hi, Albert. Say hello to grandpa, Maddy.'' Rose took her candy. "Thank you.'' She gave it to Maddy because her daughter would enjoy it more. "Would you like to hold her, Albert?'' she asked as she passed into the house.
When Albert had told her that Jack was here, she had been surprised. Now she understood that she was not the only one feeling this way. She looked nervously to Barry for some kind of comfort. "Where is he?'' Her question was directed to no one in particular. |
