"I don't mind the park at all," she said as she took a seat next to Mariel on the bench. While Juniper wouldn't have minded sitting on the grass, she understood that Mariel probably did not want to get dirt on her work outfit. "I get plenty of nature in the office, but it's still a nice change of scenery," she agreed. And Mariel had needed to get out of the office. But which office? Juniper couldn't remember if she knew what Mariel actually did for the Ministry or not.
"Remind me which department you're in again?" she asked after a brief pause during which she dug a sandwich out of her pocket and started unwrapping it. Yeah. Surely Mariel would love talking about her job. Most people loved talking about themselves and their accomplishments, and that meant Juniper could mostly just listen and eat her sandwich. Good. Mariel was glad to know that the park had been a good choice to meet for lunch today. She had figured it would be a fairly safe bet and truthfully she needed a little fresh air herself. Even if some of her event planning led her out of doors to the stadium, much of her work was in the office paperwork.
Now that Juniper was there, she thought nothing of getting started on her lunch and she pulled the sandwich from her bag. Taking a bite, she glanced back at the other woman as she spoke. Nature in the office... That meant DERP, right? Mariel was fairly certain that was where she ended up. "So what is your position in the Ministry?" There was a time when she couldn't care less about Herbology but since Ethan got more involved with that type of thing, she at least held a vague interest in it. And she wondered if that was what Juniper did too, though she knew that department did other things as well.
Ah, and of course the same question was posed to her as well. She supposed that it would make sense to start with talking about one's job when catching up and she smiled lightly. "I'm the Department Head for Magical Games and Sports. I've been with the department for... hmm, almost ten years now." Wow. Where did all that time go? "Department Head for six... We have a pretty big event coming up, hopefully you'll be able to come." She was actually pretty proud of it and the hard work her team was doing with it.
