Esme honestly had no idea how to respond to the question of whether or not she would go to war over something. The environment was something that she cared a lot about, but something as destructive as war would be counterproductive to what she would want to achieve... There was also her family, but she really couldn't see WHY she would have to go to war over them even if she WOULD do it. What a thought provoking lesson this was turning out to be.
In the end she remained silent and continued with note-taking; that was always an effective way to deal with things when she didn't know what to say because at least she was still participating in a way.
