But never the dungeons, so it was with an air of curiosity - but still as blank an expression as ever - that the second year all but strolled into the entrance to Dungeon Five, hands in his pockets as he went.
Pausing in the doorway, Daxton cast a cursory glance around the room, at all the doors and into every dingy corner, the hairs on the back of his neck giving an unpleasant prickling sensation as they stood up on end. He wanted nothing more than to pull his earmuffs up from where they dangled around his neck, clamp them down over his ears, but the desire to keep all his senses unimpeded easily won out.
After he had committed the layout of the room to memory, Daxton headed for the sign-in book and printed his name down, glancing back at the other recorded names when he was done, and recognising all of them. Then he paused again, thinking. How far back did this book go? It seemed a bit much to expect that twenty years worth of detention records might be in this very sign-in book, but it was difficult to judge just how many students were sent to the dungeons on a yearly basis. Not knowing when he might get another chance to check, Daxton just went ahead and flipped back the pages of the book, scanning through them as he listened out for the footsteps that would signal the arrival of the Transfiguration professor.
Nana hated the dungeons. Cold, damp, lacking of any color and all charm. She was very glad her office and set of rooms was no where near this level of the castle. Still, it was a fitting place for a detention... Albeit, slightly heavy handed. Her heels clicked with each step, but the rhythm only brought her confidence, and assurance that she was a capable, strong witch who knew what she was doing. She had given detention before, quite a few of them in the past, but this would be her first Hogwarts detention and the subject himself was... an intimidating one.
Yes, she was not so proud that she could not admit that Daxton Price with his inscrutable stare was an intimidating charge. There was something to him, something that Nana could not pinpoint or understand yet, but that she was determined to. She could not teach a student who's mind was so closed off and it was not in her to simply let someone squander their time or natural born abilities.
This detention would be interesting.
"Mister Prince." Nana greeted, hands loosely folded together before her as she reached the young man. She had almost wondered if he would come at all.
"We will begin shortly with your detention. We are, at present, waiting on a colleague." She was expecting the Astronomer anytime now. He had shown an interest in the boy and after consideration and a consultation Nana had decided that Airey should be present during all this.
