Cornelius thought they were buddies. Y'know, Hirsch not messing with his game and whatnot. But NO. He HAD to pair up Cornelius with Katerina. In any other occasion, sure, he wouldn't have minded. In a duel? How was he supposed to want to end little, pretty Katerina. It was against friendship code. Dueling Jaemin had been fun because they were boys. Guys fight and make their ancestors proud. Then there was his first duel with delicate Azura. Cornelius had had to actually seek out older student advice on how to make things better with her. Still, it hadn't been so bad.
Now...Katerina.
The tip of his fingers were cold and his heart thumped quickly against his rib cage. Thump-thump-thump! He smiled his signature dazzling smile his dad taught him as he entered the arena, not letting it be known that he was nervous as heck. HIRSCH, REALLY???????????????????
"Hi, Miss Katty!Kat!" The curly haired boy waved, smiling what was closest to a genuine smile. That was one of his best friends right therrrrre. He was mid bow when said best friend SHOT at him. Green eyes went wide; instincts flicking on like a light switch. Before he fully thought of the situation he produce a shield.
"Wooooow!" He wondered amazed, followed by, "Orchideous!"
