Dot had to convince herself she was actually better at Transfiguration than she thought. She'd managed some pretty impressive spells, and while it didn't come to her as easily as Charms did, she'd done it. Hard work had paid off. It was just that Transfiguration took more focus and practice and a lot more understanding of theory.
Maybe she was a little lazy?
She considered the story Draper told before raising her hand. "It sounds like Transfiguration, sir, but generally we see that items being transfigured have the same general mass as the object they change into... not to mention some similar properties on occasion." Not always... but it seemed like they made pincushions into porcupines for a reason, right? "There's a big discrepancy between one fish and even a baby dragon, just in terms of size. That just makes it hard for me to believe. But if any kind of spell, it would involve Transfig."
