Brooklyn knew that she ought to continue as instructed, and practice the charm on the dummies. Others had claimed a dummy, after all, and she hardly wanted to be the last one to choose and end up having to work with someone. Especially since she had a feeling that things wouldn’t go well if she did have to. As such, she’d turned toward the dummies, eyeing one particular dummy intently, as if it had done something to offend her. Intent was everything with spells, after all, even just when she was practicing. She’d done enough to know that.

Wand out, she’d been halfway through the clover formation when she heard the chaos going on behind her, along with felt a cold spot from something hitting the back of her neck. Lifting her free hand, she touched her neck and her fingers came back green. At least it wasn’t blood, but she still didn’t like the surprise attack. She’d known the paint cans were trouble, but she doubted even Professor Primeaux had intended on the paint war that had suddenly happened, due to one particularly annoying poltergeist. This would be an even better form of practice. Besides, she had to have more power behind her charm than the little ones already casting it toward Peeves.

“Skurge!,” she said confidently, her wand tracing out the clover shape instinctively before yet another green beam shot toward the poltergeist. She wasn’t going to allow him to get away with it this time.
