He pondered for a moment what the hardest one was. "That would probably have to be Amortentia. We brewed it last year, and although the amount of ingredients were always in 8's, the steps were the hardest part. When I tried practicing it from memory, it was hard to remember which ingredients I had to add right away, and which ones were added one at a time." He began creating potions from memory last term, in hopes of preparing himself for his exams, and everyday life in general. If he were in a situation that required him to make potions without instructions, he wanted to be ready for it. Although he wasn't sure what scenario would require that. Still he practiced.

He grabbed the pamphlets, and glanced through them. They definitely seemed up his ally. "I'd love to try these out soon." Maybe the teen could try out one of these when he visited the practice room.

Austin felt relief when the professor agreed about DADA. There were times, during the class, when he felt like he was the only one struggling. Or that he was roped in with the First and Second years, because he wasn't sure what to do. It made him feel young and childish, not something he enjoyed. "It's quite strange. Being behind a cauldron seems much safer." He let out a chuckle, but it was true. When he was behind his cauldron, he felt as safe as some feel behind their wand. Which was very strange indeed, since a wrong potion could explode, or burn. But to the Raven-haired boy, he felt that was half the fun. At least when the potion smells funny you know you've done something wrong. In DADA, unless the professor was watching you, it was hard to pinpoint what went wrong.
"Ahh Amortentia," Art said with a nod. "I remember the first time I brewed that one. I uhh... I think it might have exploded..." though it had been such a long, loooong time, it was hard to recall which ones had worked and which ones hadn't. "You... you try to practice y-your potions from memory?" he asked, impressed.

"W-well I have the ingredients in the supply cupboard, so if you don't have your own, l-let me know and I can get them out for you."

Art couldn't help but laugh happily at what Mr. Moore was saying. "I completely agree with you there, m'boy. I dare say you're much like me there. Being behind a cauldron really is a safe place."
