This was faaar more entertaining than it should have been.
Carl looked around as Mel moved nearer to him. "Does
anybody like the stairs?" He muttered back and grinned. Pausing his practice for a second, he watched her point her wand at a dummy and - say the incantation his way! "It is quite funny," he agreed, laughing. Now, he had to continue practicing properly, otherwise Professor Primeaux might get angry with them.
He pointed his wand firmly at the dummy. "Skurge." And the three leaf clover movement ... no! He did it wrong. Before trying again, he practiced the wand movement some more. Maybe he had not gotten the hang of it yet. "Skurge!" He said again, this time doing the three leaf clover movement correctly. Hmm, no green sparks. That was okay, he was not expecting it to work, anyway.
The Puff tightened the grip on his wand. "Skurge." He repeated with the movement while trying to keep his wrist stay tight. Still, nothing happened. He lowered his wand and glanced at Mel, wondering if she wanted another go with the dummy. He needed time to think over how he could improve.
