Judging from his previous decision to counter spells with a shield charm, Tia had figured her two offensive spells might be countered as such. Which was why she cast up a "Protego" just as a precedent to defend against any returned spells. Because last thing she wanted was to not be able to hear or hold her wand. Which worked for defending against the jelly fingers curse, but her kumquat spell hit Dmitriy full on and she might have been mildly amused for a moment at his ears, before he disappeared. Uh what? Oh, disillusionment. Why didn't she think of that? See, it WAS the quiet ones that one needed to be fearful of.

Looking all around and trusting her hearing for where Dmitriy was in the room, she frowned when she couldn't find him and just as she cast "Finite Incantatem" to end all spells in her vicinity - which would surely make Dmitriy visible again, except she heard the slug vomiting incantation and felt a slug coming up her esophagus. Ugh, gross. And there's another one. And another.... and she was crouched over, just practically letting them walk out of her mouth to let the jinx run its course.
